Comfortable leaving people uncomfortable
Mt. 13:11 – “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but them it has not been given…”

Jesus loves to teach people, yet He’s never being afraid of loosing His audience. He lets people ask questions, yet He’s not afraid being second guessed by people. He knows and confident of His message, He lets people chew it and then let them decide whether they want to swallow it or reject it. Jesus is comfortable leaving people uncomfortable.

One of the most awkward moments in our effort of sharing the gospel is probably the moment when we’re about to share the gospel in words – Jesus, sin, the cross, God’s righteousness. It’s an excruciating experience, but yet that’s what they really need to hear. Whether they want to accept or reject it, it’s a different story.

Jesus sheds an important light in this verse – people can respond positively to the message of the gospel because God has revealed it to them – otherwise, they can’t and won’t understand the secret of the kingdom of heaven.
To the physical ear it may sound foolish but when the spiritual ears are open, people will respond positively to the message of the gospel. Let the gospel do its work no matter how it may make people feel. Leave the uncomfortable part to the gospel – because that’s its job.
